A new BD52 million mall, set to open this October, will be home to the largest mall entertainment facility in the kingdom with the opening of Funscape World.
Operated by a newly established Bahraini entertainment company, Funscape World will consist of four different zones spread across 5660 sqm and 4 different levels as Funscape Play, Funscape Adventure, Funscape Sport & Funscape Ice, all designed by Dubai based ASI Design Solutions LLC, a specialist in the design of indoor Leisure & Entertainment facilities.
Spread over 1,085 sq. metres, Funscape Ice will feature an ice-skating rink that will run all year, offering skating lessons – hosting shows and even tournaments. Funscape Play, the Family Entertainment Centre is an indoor play center and amusement park covering 2210 sq. metres, with arcade games & attractions including Drop Tower, Amusement Rides, Roller Coaster, Bumper Cars, Carnival & Midway Games,VR Games, Video Games, Simulators, Redemption Games, Softplay Area and a Toddler Play Zone. For the adventure seekers there is Funscape Adventure which occupies 517 sq. metres of the entertainment facility, with a signature climbing wall reaching up to 12 meters in height, dedicated rope courses for children and adults including a children’s zip-line and a high level zip-line for adults.The 1848 sq. metres Funscape Sports comprises of two five-a-side football spaces with FIFA approved turf along with other sporting facilities, sports simulators, changing rooms, private locker services, robot-goalkeeper challenges and NBA styled basketball experiences.
The Funscape Zones are 40% complete with the décor and cladding works currently underway. State of the art rides and facilities are being shipped in from Italy, the US, Spain and Bulgaria said the developer.
“A highly technical experienced team will be overseeing all facilities at Funscape World to ensure the necessary safety standards and practices will be adhered to” said Funscape World’s Operations Manager Hesham Al Haddad. “We look forward to the launch of the mall and are excited by the progress that we’re making in the development and fitouts of the zones with each passing day”, he concluded.
The crescent shaped Mall of Dilmunia is located on Dilmunia Island where it will overlook a canal and green landscaping. The mall will also feature the largest atrium in Bahrain that will house a 16 meter tall cylindrical aquarium, 100 meter LED screen ceiling and an open air sky terrace. The mall will be home to 220 retail outlets on a total built-up area of 125,000sqm, while shoppers can park in more than 1000 spaces. A $1.6 billion man-made island city off the north-eastern coast of Muharraq, Dilmunia has a health and wellness theme including residences, hotels, and leisure and shopping districts.
